David Mullings

As the CEO of Father Figure Children & Family Services, David draws from his prior experience at a leading charity dedicated to supporting fathers. He established this venture in 2011 after discontinuing projects due to austerity measures left him frustrated. Leveraging his fatherhood journey and almost two decades of professional growth, he has developed unique, tailor-made interventions to assist families, focusing on fathers. As part of Father Figure, David primarily serves as a McKenzie Friend court advocate, representing fathers facing challenges in securing contact with their children. Additionally, he conducts one-on-one sessions with fathers as requested by various London local authorities, tailoring his support to meet their specific needs. In his role as a consultant, David successfully introduced a model in Brent's Children's Centre settings, resulting in a significant increase in fathers' involvement in the Early Years Sector. Over a span of two/ three years, the Fathers In Brent Programme engaged over 5000 fathers. To put this in perspective, this means that 33% of children under 5 years old in the borough of Brent were involved with the project in some capacity.
